Finishing time -3:02:35 Previous Best 3:02:36 Boston April 16, 2007. Chris Quesada who is STILL trying to break the 3 hour barrier, was paced by Armand Crespo. Close but no cigar. Keep trying Chris! BTW - Thanks Armand... I could not have done it without your positive coaching and enthusiasm.

Congratulations both to Rafa for his fast marathon time and his brother Javier  Palacios who placed 2nd overall at the  6th Carrera Tecozautla  5K - MEXICO with a finishing time of 16:37

Sal Bautista 17:23 (1st Place Overall) - Alex Rendon 17:28 (3rd Place Overall / 2nd Place Division) - Omar 18:41 (3rd Place Division) -Steve 18:47 (3d Place Division) - Derrecl 21:27 - Naomi 24:39 (1st Place Division) - Joe 27:54

(The early stages of the course consisted steep hills which made it very difficult for all the runners. The winning time of 17:23 shows that this course is very challenging.

August 25 th1st Annual Lake Balboa Watermelon  5k Run/  Walk
Alberto Ramos finished first overall with a blazing 15:39  - Chris lost valuable time by missing a turn and decided to go around the lake again. His fourth-place overall effort bumped him to 29th place. His pace for the projected finishing time was low 18 minutes. Next time read the sign Chris!  - Naomi Ruiz the second overall female finisher with a time of 22:07. She too took a slight wrong detour. Joe who is fairly new to running sets a new Personal Best and finished 25:22 - ARC's youngest runner Lionel finished strong at 29:57 mins.

 Mike Locke who is beginning to show signs of improvement, particularly in his speed and endurance finishes 1:28. Not bad for a first timer, considering the hot weather conditions. “Hmmm… could it be the thirsty Thursday fun runs?” Jeremy and Naomi ran together side by side near the end and finished approximately the same time. Naomi improved her time over last year’s race by 8 minutes finishing @ 2:08 Joe, who’s never even done a10k then goes out to run one of the most difficult races in California with a grueling 4,000 foot elevation gain finished 2:28. Way to go Joe! Dereck and Chris ran unofficially as part of their training. Dereck finished 1:54

A surprise birthday cake was waiting for Joe after Thursdays 5 miler run.Happy Birthday Joe and may you have more healthy, happy years ahead from the Thirsty Thursday Running Crew.


Hello fellow ARC teammates and viewers, I’d like to share my 21-mile (round trip) hike/ run Half Dome experience. The climb up was challenging, yet not too difficult to hike. The view from top of Half Dome was just spectacular. I recommend to anybody that has the chance to go for it. It was an experience I will never forget. Enjoy

Congratulations Adalberto "Flaco" Mendoza  for finishing the Angeles Crest 100 Mile Endurance Race earning the Second Sunrise Buckle Award and also taking home The Bronze Ram Award. Flaco is one of the top local ultra runners in Griffith Park. Chris Quesada, who took part as a 15 mile pacer was inspired. But first, need a 50 miler qualification. Maybe next year. On behalf of ARC, a big Congratulations!!! BTW. "How did thoes shoes work out for you at the AC100 Flaco?"

After Thanksgiving time, the lights go up in Griffith Park. Come join us run through the big light  festival that Department of Water and Power put up for the holidays. There is about 1/2 mile of lights in shapes of elves, santas, reindeer, and LA landmarks. Christmas music playing the whole way through over a series of loudspeakers. This is a  fun, holiday spirit kind of run that will definitely put everybody in the holiday spirit. Other runs will be around Los Feliz Blvd and the surrounding areas to see the lights in at the fancy Hollywood Hills homes. Meet at the STORE

ARC Racing Team places 1st and 3rd OVERALL in Santa Clarita Half/Full Marathon. Congratulations Alberto Ramos finishing 1:12:30 First Place Overall PHOTOS  -  Bryan Ramos finishing 1:13:53 Third Place Overall (Bryan also placed 2nd in his age division) –  Ricardo Leon 1:34:01 5th Place Age Division and Javier Fernandez 3:05 Second Place Age Division Marathon.
